The Seattle Space Needle is going above and beyond to combat COVID-19 and reopen as safely as possible with state-of-the-art technology. Surfacide is proud to be a part of the bundled approach to create a safer environment for visitors.

“I think we’ve got a process in place that is going to make the Space Needle one of the safest places to be in Seattle,”

COO Karen Olson

The Surfacide system is being deployed in facilities across the country, including the Seattle Space Needle, as organizations implement solutions in the battle against COVID-19.

Also included in The Seattle Space Needle’s Reopening Plan:

  • Far-UV-C “sanitizing” body scanners
  • Touchless, self-checkout-style experiences
  • Mandatory mask mandate for all employees and guests
  • Plexiglass barrier in retail space
  • Signage and sanitizer
  • Electrostatic disinfectant sprayer

“We’re the best place to show off the city. We want to do that safely,” Olson said. “It’s been four months. People want something to do, they want something to do safely, they want to get that breath of fresh air. We’ve taken the time, we’ve done the investment. We believe we are as safe as we can be.”
